Hamilton Robinson Builds Compliance Platform

June 16, 2020 by John McNulty

Tanknology, a portfolio company of Hamilton Robinson Capital Partners since September 2019, has acquired Compliance Testing & Technology (CCT).

CCT is a provider of underground storage tank (UST) and aboveground storage tank (AST) compliance services, cathodic protection services (used to prevent corrosion on buried or submerged metallic structures), tank cleaning and leak detection services. The company’s customer base includes truck stop operators, convenience store chains, railroads, freight terminals and equipment companies located throughout the United States. CCT, led by President Greg Goeks, is based north of Milwaukee in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

Tanknology is a provider of underground storage tank testing, inspection, and compliance management services. The company services more than 50,000 petroleum fueling and storage facilities per year and its customers include many of the largest fueling station operators in the world.

Tanknology, founded in 1988 and led by CEO Allen Porter, is headquartered in Austin, Texas and has eight regional offices in the US and a network of licensees in over 20 countries worldwide.

“CT&T shares Tanknology’s commitment to a customer-centric culture and delivery of the highest quality of service to protect U.S. groundwater and air quality,” said Jim Parmelee, a managing director at Hamilton Robinson.

Stamford, Connecticut-based Hamilton Robinson invests from $5 million to $50 million of equity in companies that have revenues from $15 million to $200 million. Sectors of interest include B2B services, niche manufacturing, industrial IOT, specialty chemicals and materials, environmental services, robotics and factory automation, testing and measurement, and value-added distribution. The firm, currently investing from its fourth fund, has invested more than $1.3 billion in 50 companies since its founding in 1984.
