The Jordan Company Acquires Transportation Impact

March 24, 2020 by John McNulty

Transportation Impact, a provider of software and services to the logistics industry, has been acquired by The Jordan Company from the company’s founders.

Transportation Impact’s (TI) products and services are used to reduce costs for high-volume shippers through automatic billing error refunds, carrier agreement negotiation, and shipping optimization for small parcel and freight. TI was founded in 2008 by Keith Byrd and Travis Burt and has more than 80 employees and more than 900 customers. The company, led by CEO Berkley Stafford, is headquartered in Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

TI’s current management team will continue to lead the company in partnership with The Jordan Company and Mr. Byrd will join the company’s new board of directors.

“We are excited to have TJC as our new equity partner,” said Mr. Stafford. “TJC brings an impressive track record of expanding tech-enabled logistics businesses. The partnership with TJC, combined with the strong TI team and our innovative technology, positions the company well for the next steps in its evolution.”

“We are extremely impressed by what the current management team and employees have accomplished in building TI into a technology-forward, market-leading business that drives ongoing savings and efficiencies for shippers,” said Brian Higgins, a partner at The Jordan Company. “TI is a very strong fit with our existing portfolio companies, and we expect to leverage our capital and experience in the logistics space to help management continue to grow the business.”

The Jordan Company is a middle-market private equity firm that invests in a range of industries including industrials, transportation and logistics, healthcare, consumer, telecom, technology, and utilities. The firm was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in New York City with an additional office in Chicago.
