Gorge Holdings has acquired Western Shelter Systems in partnership with Barry Hendrix, the company’s CEO, and other members of the company’s senior management team.
Western Shelter Systems designs and manufacturers rapid-response shelters; wildland firefighting clothing and equipment; and mobile solutions for emergency responders, military and commercial customers. The company is based in Eugene, OR (www.westernshelter.com).
Gorge Holdings makes control investments in privately owned companies located in the Western US that have with annual revenues of up to $25 million and free cash flow greater than $1.5 million. Sectors of interest include light manufacturing, distribution and business services. Gorge Holdings was co-founded by David Altman and Richard Diforio in 2003 and is based in Portland, OR (www.gorgeholdings.com).
“At Western Shelter Systems, Gorge will actively participate in product development, operational direction, and customer acquisition for the company’s three product lines – Western Shelter, CrewBoss, and Mobility Systems. In addition to capital, we bring hands-on insight that comes from having been operating business owners ourselves,” said Mr. Diforio.
