Unified Power, a portfolio company of Pfingsten Partners, has acquired the UPS Division of LionHeart Power Systems.
LionHeart is a provider of services and parts for the uninterruptible power market. Services include preventative and emergency maintenance, repair, testing, and battery replacement. The company is headquartered in the Chicago exurb of Huntley, IL (www.lionheartengineering.com/UPS/UPS.htm).
Unified Power is a provider of preventative, remedial and emergency maintenance services, equipment and parts to the uninterruptible power supplies industry. The company operates two business lines. The services division includes full service and preventative maintenance contracts, time and material services, load bank testing and thermographic services. The equipment division provides equipment recycling and refurbishment, parts sales and rental power equipment. Pfingsten’s strategy for Unified Power is to build a national service provider for the critical power industry, offering preventative and emergency maintenance services, parts, batteries and associated critical power equipment. The buy of the UPS Division is Unified’s fourth add-on acquisition since being acquired by Pfingsten in January 2011. Earlier add-ons were Power Protection Unlimited (Rosedale, MD), United Power Service Company (Glenmont, OH), and Power Protection Services (Mesquite, TX). “We are excited about continuing to grow organically and through add-on acquisitions,” said Phillip Bronsteatter, a Principal at Pfingsten.
