Wilson Orchard & Vineyard Supply, a portfolio company of Clearview Capital, has completed the acquisitions of Valley Vineyard and Quantum Irrigation.
Valley Vineyard manufactures trellising equipment and also distributes other vineyard and orchard supplies. Quantum Irrigation is a designer and installer of irrigation systems and also distributes irrigation equipment and supplies. The customers of both companies include commercial orchards and vineyards. Valley Vineyard and Quantum Irrigation are located in Lodi, CA.
Wilson Orchard & Vineyard Supply is a distributor of irrigation, planting, development, and harvesting equipment and supplies to commercial orchards and vineyards in the Western United States. The company was founded in 1988 and has nine locations in Washington, Oregon and California with a headquarters in Yakima, WA (www.wilsonirr.com).
“For a long time, growers in California have asked us to replicate our one-stop shop model, offering both irrigation and OVS (meaning orchard and vineyard supplies) solutions, which works very well in Washington and Oregon,” said Joe Perry, Wilson’s CEO. “With the back-to-back acquisitions of Valley Vineyard and Quantum Irrigation, we can now make that a reality.”
Clearview Capital acquired Wilson Orchard & Vineyard Supply in December 2016. Clearview and the company’s management team are pursuing a growth strategy that includes opening new locations as well as making add-on acquisitions to expand both Wilson’s market presence and distribution capabilities.
“Since partnering with Wilson’s management to buy out its previous owner in December 2016, we have invested heavily to build Wilson into a platform capable of growing aggressively while maintaining the high level of quality and service that its customers have come to expect,” said Matt Rumilly, a Principal of Clearview Capital. “We believe Valley Vineyard and Quantum Irrigation will represent the first two of many acquisitions that Wilson completes, as the company expands its unique business model into new geographies.”
Clearview Capital invests from $8 million to $50 million of equity in companies that have from $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA. Sectors of interest include business services, healthcare services, manufacturing, and specialized distribution. The firm was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Stamford, CT with an additional office in Los Angeles (www.ClearviewCap.com).
Wilson is a platform investment of Clearview Capital Fund III LP which had a final closing in June 2013 with $325 million of committed capital.
