United American Security (UAS), a portfolio company of LaSalle Capital, has acquired Intrepid Detective Agency. This is the fourteenth add-on completed by UAS since its formation in April 2010 by LaSalle to acquire Eagle Security, Industrial Security Service, and Leonard Security Services.
Intrepid Detective Agency provides unarmed and armed uniformed security services and vehicle patrols to residential communities, local enterprises and corporations. The company was founded in 1975 by Joseph Calabrese and is headquartered about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia in Hazleton, PA (www.intrepiddetectives.com).
UAS provides security guard services to customers in the manufacturing, industrial, distribution, corporate, retail, hospitality, and gated community segments. Services provided by UAS include facility patrols, reception, emergency and alarm response, loss prevention and vehicle inspections. The company is led by CEO Stephen Levine and is headquartered in Raleigh, NC (www.unitedamericansecurity.com).
According to UAS the buy of Intrepid expands the company’s customer base and strengthens its presence in the Pennsylvania marketplace. “The addition of Intrepid creates density in an already strong region of operations for UAS. We are very excited to work with the Intrepid team to align our two companies in delivering the best security services in the region,” said Mr. Levine.
LaSalle Capital is currently investing its second fund which makes control investments of $5 million to $20 million in companies with revenues from $10 million to $100 million and EBITDA greater than $2 million. Sectors of interest include food & beverage and outsourced business services. LaSalle Capital is based in Chicago (www.lasallecapitalgroup.com).
Nick Christopher and Kelly Cornelis, both partners at LaSalle Capital, led the acquisition of Intrepid.
