MCM Capital Partners has acquired EB Industries, an outsourced provider of specialty manufacturing and engineering services.
EB Industries (EBI) is one of the leading domestic providers of electron-beam and laser welding services used by OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers in the aerospace, defense, and medical device markets. The company specializes in hard-to-weld metals including titanium, aluminum, copper, molybdenum, beryllium and other exotic materials.
Electron-beam welding is a fusion welding process in which a beam of high-velocity electrons is applied to two materials, typically metals. The intensity of the heat produced by this process is so large that the workpieces melt and flow together as the energy of the electrons is transformed into heat upon impact.
EBI’s welding services are also used to hermetically seal electronics that are used in harsh environments including RF/microwave packages, battlefield command and control systems, deep-sea sonar and seismic sensors, and medical implants. To view a video on the operations of EBI click HERE.
EBI provides other services including 3D laser cutting, engineering, tool design and fabrication, destructive and non-destructive testing, and supply chain management. The company, founded in 1965, is led by its owner and CEO Steve DeLalio and is based on Long Island in Farmingdale, New York.
Capstone Headwaters was the financial advisor to EBI on this transaction. The Capstone transaction team was led by Managing Directors Ted Polk and Eric Williams.
“After a thorough vetting of all the firms and offers made for the business, I decided to partner with MCM Capital,” said Mr. DeLalio. “They successfully demonstrated that they were clearly the best partners to satisfy all the goals I wanted to achieve when I started on this journey. Being a longstanding employee of a family-owned business, it was a life-changing and emotional decision to give up equity and control by selling to a private equity firm. I couldn’t imagine going through this process without the expertise and guidance of my investment banking advisors at Capstone Headwaters.”
MCM Capital Partners invests in niche manufacturers, value-added distributors and service companies that generate up to $75 million in annual revenues and have enterprise values up to $50 million. The firm was founded in 1992 and is headquartered near Cleveland in Beachwood, Ohio.
