ShoreView Industries has acquired MDC Interior Solutions, a national supplier of commercial wall designs and coatings. ShoreView partnered with members of the company’s management team on this transaction.
MDC’s products – which include vinyl, textile and specialty wallcoverings; decorative and acoustical panels; digitally printed surfaces; and specialty paints – are used in hospitality, corporate, healthcare, institutional, retail and residential applications.
MDC is headquartered near Chicago in Glendale Heights, IL, and has sales offices in Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles. MDC has more than 85 outside sales representatives and a staff of approximately 80 employees in its suburban Chicago office (www.mdcwall.com).
ShoreView Industries makes control and minority investments in US-based middle market companies that have revenues from $20 million to $300 million and operating profits from $5 million to $40 million. Sectors of interest include manufacturing, distribution and service providers. The firm currently has $900 million of capital under management and is based in Minneapolis (www.shoreviewindustries.com).
According to ShoreView, one component of MDC’s growth strategy will be add-on acquisitions of companies that are also active in the commercial interior products industry.
