Blue Point Exits Callison Architecture

October 21, 2014 by John McNulty

Blue Point Capital Partners has sold its portfolio company Callison Architecture to ARCADIS, an asset design and consultancy firm.

Callison is a professional architecture and design firm, providing a suite of services including architecture, interior and graphic design. The company provides its services to retail, hospitality, mixed-use, healthcare and corporate projects worldwide.  Callison has more than 1,100 employees across offices in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Scottsdale, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, London, Mexico City, Dubai and India.  Callison was founded by Tony Callison in 1975 and is headquartered in Seattle, WA (www.callison.com).

“We are extremely pleased with what we’ve been able to accomplish alongside the management team at Callison,” said Mark Morris, a partner with Blue Point. “We were focused on growing the company since the outset of our partnership, and through dynamic strategic planning we’ve been able to support Callison during a period of rapid international expansion, the integration of multiple add-on acquisitions and other strategic growth initiatives.”

Blue Point Capital Partners is a lower-middle-market private equity firm that invests in manufacturing, distribution and service businesses generating $20 million to $200 million in revenue. The firm has over $800 million in committed capital and has offices in Charlotte, Cleveland, Seattle, and Shanghai (www.bluepointcapital.com).

“Under Blue Point’s ownership, Callison has experienced significant international growth, added to its client portfolio and diversified its end markets, more than tripling the company’s profitability,” said Mr. Morris. “These results further establish Callison as the true leader in the industry, and we’re glad to have been part of the company’s growth story.”

“Blue Point was a true partner who consistently supported the company’s vision to be the global leader in providing creative design solutions to our world-class clients,” said John Jastrem, chairman and chief executive officer of Callison.  “During our partnership with Blue Point, Callison has succeeded in becoming the leading design firm serving the top global brands. We are a professional, collaborative firm with incredible talent and expertise in place, and we are well positioned to achieve our next phase of growth with our new owner.”
