PAI Partners has added Winston Song to its investment team as a partner. At PAI, Mr. Song will lead the firm’s consumer investment activities in North America.
Mr. Song is joining PAI from Vestar Capital Partners, where he was most recently a managing director and co-head of the firm’s consumer investment strategy. Mr. Song joined Vestar in 2006 and was promoted to managing director in 2019. Prior to Vestar, Mr. Song was an analyst with Lehman Brothers and CSFB Private Equity.
Over his twenty-year career, Mr. Song has been active sourcing, closing and managing investments primarily in the consumer, food and beverage sectors.
“We are delighted to welcome Winston to our team,” said Maud Brown, a partner at PAI. “His experience in buying and building up-and-coming consumer-facing companies bolsters our capabilities as we expand our footprint in North America. His presence will also allow us to expand into other consumer categories in the region beyond food and beverage.”
PAI is an active investor in the consumer sector and has closed investments in Uvesco, a Spain-based food retailer (April 2022), Tropicana Brands Group, a US-based portfolio of juice brands (February 2022), European Camping Group, a France-based campground operator (September 2021), Euro Ethnic Foods, a France-based food wholesaler (March 2021), MyFlower | Interflora, a France-based digital flower and gift platform (March 2021), Compleat Food Group, a UK-based provider of prepared foods (January 2021), and Froneri, a UK-based ice cream maker (December 2019).
“I am excited to be joining PAI at a pivotal time in its history,” said Mr. Song. “I look forward to contributing to its portfolio of top-tier, multi-national consumer companies, like Tropicana Brands Group and Froneri, and continuing to build compelling businesses in the years to come.”
