Gridiron Adds VP

Gridiron Capital has rehired Mario Masrieh as a Vice President after Mr. Masrieh completed earning his MBA from Columbia Business School.

“We have missed Mario and are happy to have him back with us,” said Tom Burger, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Gridiron Capital. “He was a hardworking and valued contributor to the team while an Associate, and we look forward to having him take on additional responsibilities in his role as Vice President.”

Mr. Masrieh previously worked at Gridiron Capital as an Associate from 2014 to 2016 before pursuing his MBA.  While at Gridiron he performed analysis and due diligence for prospective acquisitions and participated in the structuring, negotiation, financing, and closing of portfolio investments. Mr. Masrieh began his career at Morgan Stanley in its investment banking division and was an analyst in the firm’s consumer and retail group.  Mr. Masrieh has his undergraduate degree from Villanova.

Gridiron Capital invests in manufacturing, service and specialty consumer companies that have EBITDAs from $8 million to $50 million. Sectors of interest include branded consumer, B2B and B2C services, and niche industrial. In October 2016, Gridiron held a final closing of the firm’s third fund, Gridiron Capital Fund III LP, at the hard cap of $850 million. The firm is based in New Canaan, CT (www.gridironcapital.com).
