Saban Capital Group – an investor in the media, entertainment and communications industry – has promoted Richard Yen to Managing Director, Private Equity.
Mr. Yen, who has been with Saban since June 2008, will continue to lead the firm’s activities in the digital media and consumer Internet sectors. In his seven years with Saban, Mr. Yen has grown the firm’s portfolio with investments in Vessel (next generation video platform), IronSource (online and mobile downloaded applications), and PlayBuzz (web embedded quizzes and polls), among others. Additionally, Mr. Yen has advised Saban’s portfolio of companies including Saban Brands and Univision on digital acquisitions and strategies.

Prior to working for Saban, Mr. Yen was a Principal at Blueprint Ventures and established the firm’s digital media and Internet investing practice. Prior to Blueprint, he worked for Rustic Canyon Partners, a technology venture capital firm where he focused on software and wireless investments.
