TA Associates has created two new senior positions and has hired two professionals to fill them. Jeffrey Hadden has joined TA as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, and Kevin Masse has joined the firm as Chief Portfolio Officer. TA has been on a hiring spree of late. Last month, the firm hired Tony Marsh to the newly created position of Director of Capital Markets. Both Mr. Hadden and Mr. Masse will be based in TA’s Boston office.
Mr. Hadden is responsible for the general oversight of TA’s global non-investment operations. He oversees all legal matters, including compliance, and marketing and human resources functions, including recruiting, training and performance reviews. Mr. Hadden joins TA from law firm Goodwin Procter. He served as TA’s outside general counsel since 1987 in his role as Partner in Goodwin Procter’s Business Law Department and member of its Private Equity Group. Mr. Hadden earned a BA from Duke University and a JD from Boston College Law School.

Mr. Masse focuses on driving the value of TA’s portfolio in conjunction with TA investment committees. He oversees TA’s portfolio operations group and manages the use of third party consultants utilized across the portfolio. His responsibilities include the systematic development and tracking of 180-day plans, acquisition integration and initiatives to drive portfolio growth and to turn around underperforming companies. Mr. Masse will also expand TA’s analytical tools to track portfolio performance in support of investment sponsors, investment committees, TA’s Executive Committee and investor reporting. Mr. Masse was formerly a Partner at Deloitte & Touche responsible for the New England Mergers and Acquisitions Services Group, and a member of the Deloitte U.S. Mergers and Acquisitions Leadership Team. Mr. Masse is a graduate of the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
