OceanSound’s PAR Excellence Acquires Terso Solutions

PAR Excellence, a healthcare inventory management software company backed by OceanSound Partners, has acquired Terso Solutions from Promega. Terso makes radio-tagged cabinets, refrigerators and freezers that show hospitals in real time which high-value supplies are on hand and when they are used. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, it has deployed more than 3,800 RFID-enabled devices at more than 1,000 U.S. healthcare facilities, backed by cloud software that helps customers cut waste and meet regulatory requirements.

The two companies have worked together for several years, and hundreds of PAR customers already connect Terso enclosures to PAR’s TrackCore tissue and implant tracking software. The deal gives hospitals one platform for tracking inventory across every department. Founded in 1992 and based in Cincinnati, PAR provides cloud software, proprietary hardware and services for inventory and workforce management. CEO Thad MacKrell said the combined business serves about 1,700 hospitals, nearly 30% of the U.S. total. OceanSound acquired PAR from Northlane Capital Partners in September 2024.
