Crosstown Capital Partners has acquired MAK Steel Services and Trinity Steel Services, two Indiana companies that fabricate structural steel and erect it on commercial and industrial building sites. The acquisition pairs a fabricator with the erector that raises its steel, giving Crosstown a single contractor covering the work from shop drawing to final bolt.

MAK Steel Services fabricates structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial and industrial projects, while Trinity Steel Services handles erection and installation. Together, the companies can carry a steel package from design and drafting through fabrication and final placement at the job site.

MAK cuts, drills, welds and assembles structural steel, and also produces custom products in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Its capabilities extend to architectural metal products and pre-engineered metal buildings. The company self-performs fabrication through its own facilities and can supplement that capacity with contracted fabricators when project requirements exceed internal availability, allowing it to compete across a broader range of project sizes.

The company’s Ornamental Products Division focuses on the visible metalwork in a completed building, including railings, stairs and other architectural features, as distinct from the structural frame behind the walls.

Trinity Steel Services erects structural and miscellaneous steel on commercial and industrial projects, working with general contractors and fabricators from delivery through final installation. Fabrication and erection are frequently awarded under separate contracts, creating the potential for coordination issues when material is delayed, incorrectly fabricated or does not match field conditions. Combining the two functions under common ownership can reduce those handoff issues and provide greater control over scheduling and execution.

Trinity is an AISC-certified erector, a designation that requires an audited quality management system. It is also a certified training institute through the National Center for Construction Education and Research. Its welders hold American Welding Society certifications and receive advanced rigging training.

MAK Steel Services is headquartered in Seymour, Indiana, about 65 miles south of Indianapolis, and also keeps offices in New Whiteland. Trinity Steel Services operates from New Whiteland, roughly 15 miles south of Indianapolis. Both companies are led by President Kyle Elkins.

“We’re incredibly proud of what this team has built together. None of this happens without the employees who show up every day, the customers who put their trust in us, and the families who have supported us along the way,” said Mr. Elkins. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to keep building on that foundation, create more opportunities for our people, and take the company to the next level while staying true to the values and relationships that got us here.”

Structural steel fabrication is a $162 billion global market in 2026 and is forecast to reach $200 billion by 2031, a compound annual rate of 4.3%, according to Mordor Intelligence, which characterizes concentration as low. In North America the demand drivers are infrastructure spending, industrial reshoring and data center construction, with the Federal Highway Administration’s fiscal 2026 budget request alone at $72.6 billion. Steel framing tracks non-residential construction, and the sector’s exposure is to commercial and industrial building starts rather than to housing. Warehouse, manufacturing and data center work has carried demand in the Midwest while office construction has not.
