Blue Point Capital Partners has recapitalized Dumpsters.com, a provider of temporary dumpsters, portable sanitation, and other jobsite services.
Dumpsters.com rents temporary roll-off dumpsters in sizes ranging from 10 to 40 cubic yards, the open-top containers that homeowners and contractors fill with debris during renovations, cleanouts, and construction jobs and that are hauled away when full. Alongside the dumpsters, the company rents portable toilets, portable storage containers, and temporary construction fencing, letting a customer outfit an entire jobsite through a single order. It sells under its own Budget Dumpster and Portapotty.com brands and serves homeowners, construction and remodeling contractors, and commercial and industrial businesses across the United States.
The business runs an asset-light model. Rather than owning fleets of trucks and landfills in every market, it operates a centralized, technology-driven platform that matches customer orders with a national network of independent hauling and site-service partners. Customers book and manage rentals online or by phone, and Dumpsters.com coordinates delivery, pickup, and disposal through its vendor network, adding its own hauling operation in the Cleveland area where density supports it. The model has supported more than one million dumpster rentals since the company began.
Dumpsters.com was founded in 2009 by Mark Campbell and John Fenn. Kyle Braun has served as chief executive officer since 2022. The company is headquartered about 15 miles west of Cleveland in Westlake, Ohio.
Dumpsters.com has been owned by its founders since its 2009 start, funding its growth without institutional capital. The company built its own hauling arm in the Cleveland area in 2018 and extended its rentals into broader jobsite services beginning in 2023. The recapitalization by Blue Point is the first outside institutional investment in the business and is structured to keep the existing management team in place while funding acquisitions in a fragmented market.
Kyle Braun
“From our first conversations, the fit with Blue Point was clear — strategically, culturally and in our shared Cleveland-area roots — and we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities ahead,” said Mr. Braun. “With Blue Point’s partnership, we can accelerate our strategic initiatives, including deepening business-to-business sales, expanding complementary site services and pursuing acquisitions across this highly fragmented market. We’re especially proud to be building our future with a hometown partner that’s as committed as we are to supporting our employees and the community around us.”
The United States solid waste management industry generated about $163.9 billion in revenue in 2025 and is growing at roughly a 5.3% annual rate toward an estimated $247.5 billion by 2033, with collection accounting for close to 60% of activity, according to Grand View Research. Demand tracks construction, demolition, and renovation, which throw off the bulky debris that fills roll-off containers.
Temporary dumpster and roll-off container rental is a smaller, fragmented niche within that industry, estimated at about $5.9 billion globally in 2023 and expanding in the low single digits, per Cognitive Market Research, with North America the biggest regional market. Thousands of local and regional haulers compete on price, availability, and service, and few operate nationally. Online booking and centralized, technology-driven ordering have become a distinguishing feature as customers move away from calling individual haulers, a shift that favors platforms able to aggregate supply across many markets.
Rick Soukup
“We’re proud to partner with another Northeast Ohio company. As a founder-owned organization, the company stood out for its highly aligned management team and execution-oriented mindset,” said Rick Soukup, a principal at Blue Point. “Our extensive interaction gave both Blue Point and the company confidence to accelerate key investments and strategic initiatives. The team has ambitious goals, and we’re thrilled to support them in their journey.”
Blue Point was drawn to an asset-light, data-driven model that scales without the capital intensity of owning trucks and disposal sites, and to a founder-owned business with a management team the firm described as tightly aligned. The recapitalization backs a plan to deepen business-to-business sales, add complementary site services, and consolidate a fragmented market through acquisitions, a strategy that fits Blue Point’s focus on lower-middle-market recapitalizations and its experience in environmental and waste services.
Charley Geiger
“Dumpsters.com has built something unique in the managed waste services industry — an asset-light, data-driven platform that delivers real value for both customers and hauling partners,” said Charley Geiger, a partner at Blue Point. “Kyle and his team have scaled a leading platform with a proven operating model. We see substantial room to grow in the $100 billion-plus waste management market and look forward to being part of the next chapter.”
Blue Point Capital Partners invests in companies active in the industrial, business services, consumer, and value-added distribution sectors, with revenues between $30 million and $300 million and EBITDA greater than $7 million. Blue Point is currently investing through its 2022 vintage $700 million fifth fund. The firm was founded in 2000 and has offices in Cleveland and Charlotte.
