E Source helps electric and gas utilities decide how to price service, design customer programs and build out the grid, pairing industry research and data with engineering work. The Boulder company, a portfolio company of Align Capital Partners, has acquired Aneden Consulting.

Founded in 2017, Aneden guides power producers and utilities through interconnection studies and the compliance work that governs how new generation gets connected to the grid, serving system operators, utilities, independent power producers and renewable developers. It joins E Source’s grid engineering and interconnection practice as queues lengthen and power demand rises. Joe Eazor, chief executive of E Source, said Aneden has built a reputation for responsiveness as interconnection grows more complex. Olu Fagbemiro, founder and chief executive of Aneden, said the two teams can make a larger impact for clients. The transaction is E Source’s fifteenth acquisition since it partnered with Align Capital Partners. McGuireWoods advised E Source, and Westbury Group and Taft advised Aneden.
