GALT Makes First Acquisition Under Godspeed With North Star Scientific Deal

GALT Aerospace has acquired North Star Scientific (NSS), a Hawaii-based designer and manufacturer of defense electronics products. NSS specializes in high-reliability communications, radar and radio frequency systems supporting command and control, electronic sensing, and airborne early warning and control missions. Founded in 2001, NSS supports the U.S. Air Force and Navy commands including Naval Air Systems Command and Naval Sea Systems Command across programs such as the E-2D Hawkeye and E-3 Sentry, and recently established a manufacturing center in Oklahoma City.NSS is GALT’s first acquisition since the San Diego-based airborne command, control and communications provider was acquired by Godspeed Capital in March 2026. The deal expands GALT’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and diversifies its program base.

“With deep expertise in advanced communications, radar, and RF systems, NSS represents an ideal partner as we further scale our capabilities as a product driven defense firm,” said John Kohut, CEO of GALT.

Godspeed Capital, a lower-middle-market defense and government-focused private equity firm targeting companies with $3 million to $30 million in EBITDA, backs GALT as one of five defense technology platforms. Doug Lake and Mike Roualet led the Godspeed deal team.
