Bertram Capital has made a growth investment in The Bluebird Group, a Minneapolis-based omnichannel retail commerce services company. The investment represents Bertram’s fifth platform investment in Fund V. Jason Kapsner, CEO and founder of Bluebird, will remain in his current role. Jared Ruger, a partner at Bertram Capital, led the investment.Founded in 2015, Bluebird partners with consumer brands to manage and grow their presence across nine major retail channels, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Kohl’s, Kroger, and BJ’s Wholesale. The company offers a full-service suite covering retail media, omnichannel sales management, creative asset production, social commerce, demand generation, insights, technology, and category management.
Bertram’s investment will support continued expansion and enhancement of Bluebird’s technology platform through Bertram Labs, the firm’s internal technology capability. Canaccord Genuity advised Bluebird as sell-side advisor with Sanjay Chadda and Lexia Schwartz leading the Canaccord transaction team.
