TPG Growth has agreed to make a significant investment in Smith + Howard, an Atlanta-based assurance, tax, advisory, and wealth management firm, marking the exit of Broad Sky Partners, which has backed the firm since 2022.Founded in 1971, Smith + Howard serves privately held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth clients across construction, distribution, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, and technology. The firm employs approximately 800 professionals across seven states. CEO Sean Taylor will continue leading the firm under its existing brand following close.
TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity platform of Fort Worth-based TPG, launched in 2007 and is part of a firm managing $306 billion in assets under management. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. Max Wein led the TPG deal team.
