Kian Capital-backed SPATCO Energy Solutions has acquired Discovery Tank Testing and Tank Wizards, two Florida-based environmental and fuel tank services providers, marking the platform’s fifth and sixth add-on acquisitions since a $230 million continuation fund closed in July 2024.
Discovery provides precision testing, certifications, and inspections for underground and above-ground storage tanks to retail fueling sites and commercial operators across Florida. Tank Wizards provides fuel tank cleaning, fuel polishing, and heavy maintenance services to retail and commercial customers statewide, covering the full tank lifecycle from installation to removal. Founded in 2013, Tank Wizards is led by CEO and owner Wendall Stroderd. Discovery is led by CEO Liz Pellegrino.
The acquisitions expand SPATCO’s environmental services capabilities in Florida and bring the platform’s total branch count to 38 nationwide. SPATCO, founded in 1935 and headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, supplies, installs, and maintains fueling station infrastructure, EV charging equipment, and environmental compliance services nationwide.
Kian, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Atlanta, invests in essential services and lower middle market businesses and manages $1.1 billion in capital. Ulrich Erasmus led the Kian deal team.
