David Group Targets Israel’s Non-Tech Sector

David Group has launched as a private equity firm focused on mature Israeli and Israel-related businesses. The Herzliya-based firm was founded by Stella Cohen, formerly co-head of private equity for EMEA at the J. Safra Group and previously a principal on the direct investments team at La Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, with former Goldman Sachs partner Raanan Agus serving as chairman. David Group said it secured capital commitments ahead of launch and will target investments in financial services, defense, industrials and tech-enabled business services.The firm plans to invest in Israeli-founded or Israeli-led companies with significant operations or assets tied to the country. David Group said it will focus on businesses outside Israel’s technology startup sector, using operational and private equity experience to support expansion and transformation efforts. The founding team includes Bar Mor, formerly of Kedma Capital, and Lila Frenkel, previously a partner and CFO at MoreVC.
