PAI Partners and EQT have agreed to sell World Freight Company (WFC) to Brookfield, a Toronto-based alternative asset manager that invests across private equity, infrastructure, real estate, renewable power and credit. WFC, founded in 2004, provides outsourced air cargo sales and management services for airlines and freight forwarders. The company operates across more than 80 countries, serving over 300 airlines and 16,000 freight forwarders on 3,500 trade lanes.
PAI and EQT backed WFC’s expansion through acquisitions, technology investments and international growth initiatives. During their ownership, the company completed 20 acquisitions and expanded digital and AI-enabled cargo management capabilities. WFC manages cargo sales, booking, pricing and shipment operations for airline customers worldwide. Vikram Singh will continue leading the business under Brookfield ownership. Guillaume Leblanc of PAI and Janice Leow of EQT were involved in the transaction. Deutsche Bank advised PAI, EQT and WFC, while Freshfields served as legal adviser to EQT. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026.
