Littlejohn & Co. has acquired GDS Associates, a consulting and advisory services provider to electric utilities. Management and employees of GDS will remain investors alongside Littlejohn.
GDS provides power supply planning, transmission and interconnection studies, load forecasting, regulatory strategy, and engineering advisory services used by electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, and investor-owned utilities to plan and operate grid infrastructure.
Founded in 1986, GDS is led by President David Brian and is headquartered near Atlanta in Marietta, Georgia. GDS employs approximately 200 professionals across multiple U.S. offices.
Michael Kaplan and Charles Leung led the transaction team for Greenwich-headquartered Littlejohn.
AEC Advisors and Environmental Financial Consulting Group were the financial advisors to Littlejohn and Morrissey Goodale advised GDS.
