Chimney Rock Buys Gas Clip Technologies, Maker of Portable Gas Detectors

Chimney Rock Equity Partners has acquired Gas Clip Technologies, a Dallas-based supplier of portable gas detection equipment used across industrial and infrastructure markets.Gas Clip designs and manufactures portable gas detectors that monitor ambient air for hazardous gases or oxygen deficiency. Industrial workers use Gas Clip devices to monitor ambient air, detect toxic or combustible gases, and alert crews when oxygen levels fall to dangerous thresholds. Founded in 2003 by Bryan Bates and Fonda Tosh, the company serves industrial, marine, utility, refining, and chemical processing operators.

Austin-headquartered Chimney Rock was founded in 2022 by Rob Aikman and William Bishop, both former pros at Odyssey Investment Partners, invests in North America-based lower middle market industrial businesses across aerospace and defense, industrial products and services, and niche products sectors.

BlackArch Partners advised Chimney Rock on the transaction, while Daniel Vermeire of Corporate Finance Associates advised Gas Clip.
