Brynwood Partners has sold its portfolio company, Great Kitchens Food Company, to Rich Products Corporation.

Great Kitchens is a manufacturer of private label and branded take-and-bake pizzas, flatbreads, strombolis and calzones sold nationally through grocery, wholesale club, mass retail, foodservice and e-commerce channels. The business operates three manufacturing facilities in Romeoville, Illinois; Chicago Heights, Illinois; and Brockton, Massachusetts, and employs more than 1,000 people.

Great Kitchens was formed in December 2020 when Brynwood acquired ARYZTA North America’s take-and-bake pizza and flatbread business in a corporate carveout and later expanded through the February 2023 acquisition of the Uno Foods Division of Uno Restaurant Holdings, adding the Pizzeria Uno Chicago deep-dish pizza brand to its portfolio.

“We are pleased to announce the divestiture of Great Kitchens Food Company to Rich’s and are grateful to all the employees for their dedication to the business,” said Henk Hartong, chairman and CEO of Brynwood Partners. “Our employees and management team in our three factories worked tirelessly to grow and improve the Great Kitchens business during our ownership period. We are excited that a world class company like Rich’s will continue to build this incredible business.”

Buffalo-headquartered Rich Products, also known as Rich’s, is a food manufacturer serving retail, foodservice, bakery and prepared foods markets, with operations in more than 100 countries. Rich’s has annual revenues of approximately $6 billion. The company was founded in 1945 by Robert E. Rich Sr. and continues to be privately owned by the Rich family.

“The Great Kitchens sale culminates a series of Brynwood Partners transactions during a nine-month period that is unprecedented in our firm’s history,” added Mr. Hartong. “We completed the sale of Harvest Hill Beverage Company in May 2025 to Castillo Hermanos and Centerview Partners. Brynwood Partners IX acquired Hometown Food Company from a prior Brynwood fund and then Hometown Foods acquired the Chef Boyardee brand from Conagra Brands, Inc. Including Great Kitchens, this group of transactions totaled nearly $3.2 billion. We are incredibly proud of these results and grateful to our team and our limited partners for their hard work and collaboration.”

Founded in 1984, Brynwood Partners makes control investments in North American-headquartered consumer products businesses. The firm has specific capabilities with family- and founder-owned businesses and has been active in carving out consumer brands from corporate sellers. Brynwood Partners is currently investing out of its ninth fund which closed in 2023 with $750 million of capital. Following the sale of Great Kitchens, the firm’s portfolio includes Carolina Beverage Group, Hometown Food Company, West Madison Foods and Miracapo Pizza Company.
