The private equity pay benchmark, published every year since 2008.
The Carried Interest & Compensation Survey reports salary, bonus and carried interest across 11 employee classes, from analyst through senior partner, alongside five-year historical averages, staffing levels and remote-work trends. The 2025 edition drew 327 participating funds and ran 97 pages.
Firms that complete the questionnaire receive the complete report at no charge when it publishes at the end of October. Firms that do not participate will be able to purchase it.
About 20 minutes · 33 questions · Answer only what you know · Closes Friday, October 16
My Promise on Confidentiality
I am the only person who sees your completed survey. Not an assistant, not a researcher, no one else at this publication. Me.
Your responses are aggregated before any analysis is run. No firm is identified anywhere in the report, and no individual response is reported, sold or shared with anyone. Figures are published only as medians, averages and ranges across groups of firms, and where a category draws too few responses to report without revealing a single firm, I suppress it rather than publish it.
I have never broken that confidence in eighteen prior surveys, and I never will.

Before you start
The questionnaire runs to 33 questions across nine pages, and your answers are saved each time you move to the next page. You can close it and pick up where you left off, as long as you return on the same computer and browser. It is worth having your salary, bonus and carry figures to hand.
The survey closes Friday, October 16. The report publishes at the end of October 2026.
