Osprey Landscape Group, a portfolio company of Southfield Capital, has acquired Earthworks, a Texas-based provider of commercial landscaping services. This marks Osprey’s third acquisition since its formation in December 2021.
Osprey operates a national network of commercial landscaping firms, providing centralized management support and shared services across Texas, Washington, and Oregon. Led by CEO Joshua Dake, the company’s strategy focuses on partnering with regional leaders to scale its service capabilities. Formed by Southfield Capital as a platform investment in the landscape services sector, Osprey Landscape Group, headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, previously acquired His Hands Lawn Care & Services in January 2022 and Pacific Landscape Management in March 2022.
Earthworks, based in Dallas and founded in 1979, specializes in commercial grounds maintenance, irrigation system management, enhancement projects, seasonal floral installations, and tree care. Its clientele includes property managers for residential complexes, HOA boards, and owners of retail, office, and light industrial real estate.
“Our new partnership with Earthworks marks an important step in our effort to build a group of market leading commercial landscaping businesses,” said Heb James, a partner at Southfield. “We’re pleased to partner with Chris and the Earthworks team as we expand our capabilities and deliver even greater value to our clients.”
“Earthworks’ strong presence in Texas and commitment to high quality commercial landscaping services align perfectly with our mission to deliver exceptional maintenance and enhancement solutions to our customers,” said Mr. Dake. “This partnership expands our reach into key growth markets and reinforces our commitment to providing high quality, reliable services to our clients.”

“Teaming up with Osprey is a tremendous opportunity to further enhance our services,” said Mr. Lee. “We’re excited to continue providing the service and quality our customers expect from us, while also leveraging Osprey’s best practices to deliver even greater value.”
The U.S. commercial landscaping sector continues to grow, fueled by demand in multi-housing, managed communities, and commercial real estate. Clients increasingly seek providers offering integrated services and broad geographic reach under a single vendor relationship, driving consolidation trends across the industry.
Monroe Capital served as sole lead arranger and administrative agent for a senior credit facility supporting the transaction. The firm, headquartered in Chicago, offers financing solutions to middle-market borrowers across healthcare, business services, technology, and other sectors. Its most recent fund, Monroe Capital Private Credit Fund IV LP, closed with $2.3 billion in February 2024. Monroe is currently raising its fifth fund, targeting $3 billion.
Southfield Capital, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, invests $20 million to $80 million in control positions within outsourced business services companies generating $4 million to $20 million in EBITDA. Areas of focus include facility, financial, industrial, IT, professional, and logistics services. In May 2025, the firm closed its fourth fund, Southfield Capital IV LP, with $560 million in commitments, exceeding its original hard cap.
