Harkness Capital Partners has acquired Premier Fence, a provider of fencing, guardrail, gate, and access control services.
Premier Fence installs, repairs, and maintains fencing, guardrails, and gate/access control systems across commercial, municipal, and residential markets. Its customers include general contractors, local municipalities, commercial property managers, and residential property owners throughout New England.

Premier Fence was founded in 1998 by CEO John Feerick and is headquartered near Boston in Canton, Massachusetts.

The acquisition of Premier Fence was led by Partner Ian Handsman and marks Harkness’s second platform investment from its second fund, Harkness Capital Partners II LP. “This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to support a highly respected leader in the commercial fencing and access control industry,” said Mr. Handsman.

With the closing of the transaction, Harkness’s operating partners Bob Flecken, the former CEO of West Coast Gate, a California-based provider of security gate installation, automation, and maintenance services, and Paul Taveira, the former CEO of New York–based NRC and North Carolina–based A&D Environmental Services, will be involved. Both of those companies specialize in environmental services such as hazardous waste management and emergency response.
Harkness Capital invests in service-oriented companies with EBITDA of $5 million to $25 million, with particular interest in transportation, logistics and distribution; rental and equipment services; infrastructure and industrial services; and field and facility services. Harkness was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in New York City.
Consilium Partners was the financial advisor to Premier Fence on this transaction.
