Publicly traded Science Applications International has agreed to acquire SilverEdge Government Solutions from Godspeed Capital for $205 million in cash.

SilverEdge provides software, cyber operations, and intelligence analysis services to U.S. federal agencies, primarily within the defense and intelligence communities. Its products include SOAR, a SaaS suite that supports customizable, low-risk mission operations through commercial marketplaces, and MynAI, a secure AI platform built for use in regulated government settings. SilverEdge’s clients include the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other national security organizations.

SilverEdge was formed by Godspeed in October 2021 through the acquisition of Varen Technologies, a Maryland-based provider of cybersecurity and signals intelligence (SIGINT) services for U.S. national security agencies. In April 2022, SilverEdge expanded via acquisition of Exceptional Software Strategies, a Maryland-based provider of software development and cybersecurity services to defense and intelligence customers. In June 2022, it added Savli Group, a Virginia-based provider of IT services specializing in secure ServiceNow implementations and workflow automation for federal agencies (ServiceNow is a cloud-based platform for automating IT and business workflows across large organizations).

Other add-ons include Virginia-based QVine (October 2022), Virginia-based Counter Threat Solutions (CTS) (October 2022), and Maryland-based Gardetto Engineering (April 2023).

Godspeed’s investment in SilverEdge reflects a wider trend in the defense technology sector, where large contractors and private equity firms are consolidating software-focused companies to address changing national security needs. The SilverEdge platform brings together businesses with capabilities in cybersecurity, secure cloud infrastructure, custom software development, and automation for mission-critical operations. Its strategy aligns with growing demand for embedded AI, agile software delivery, and secure SaaS tools used in classified environments.

SilverEdge is led by CEO Robert Miller and is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with additional offices in Virginia, Maryland, and Colorado.

Science Applications International (NASDAQ: SAIC) is a publicly traded government technology integrator offering engineering, IT modernization, and digital transformation services to federal agencies across defense, intelligence, civilian, and space sectors. Its clients include the Department of Defense, NASA, and the Intelligence Community. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SAIC employs approximately 24,000 people, with additional facilities in Alabama, California, and Colorado. The company was founded in 1969 and is led by CEO Toni Townes-Whitley.

“SilverEdge’s people, culture, and innovative approach have driven impressive growth,” said Ms. Townes Whitley. “SOAR delivers agile, low risk and rapid prototyping products that align with our enterprise growth strategy to provide integrated digital solutions to our customers that tackle national priorities.”

Godspeed makes control investments in North American lower middle-market companies with EBITDA from $3 million to $30 million in the defense and government services sectors. Godspeed’s most recent fund, Godspeed Capital Fund III LP, closed at its hard cap in October 2024 with $675 million in capital commitments. Godspeed was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The sale of SilverEdge is expected to close by the end of October.
