Trinity Hunt Partners has expanded its commercial HVAC platform, NexCore, through the acquisition of Action Air Systems and Accutemp Engineering.
Action Air Systems is a Connecticut-based provider of HVAC design and build, installation and repair, plumbing, piping, and sheet-metal fabrication services to commercial, industrial, institutional, and government clients. Massachusetts-based Accutemp Engineering is a provider of HVAC design and build, construction, air quality testing, and ductwork services.

The buys of Action Air and Accutemp are the ninth and tenth acquisitions for the platform since being formed by Trinity Hunt in April 2023. Trinity Hunt rebranded the platform to NexCore in May 2024. The prior eight acquisitions are as follows: (1) Vermont-based Alliance Group (2023); (2) Connecticut-based Pratt & Smith Electric (2023); (3) Vermont-based Avonda Air Systems (2023); (4) Vermont-based Rycandon Mechanical (2023); (5) North Carolina-based Sylvester & Cockrum (2024); (6) New York-based Kennedy Mechanical (2024); (7) New York-based Ryan Plumbing & Heating (2024); and (8) New York-based DWC Mechanical (January 2025).

Today, the NexCore platform has more than 800 employees and operates as a commercial HVAC services provider, delivering a range of maintenance-driven services that include HVAC, electrical, controls, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation services for thousands of customers nationwide.
“As NexCore eclipses its two-year anniversary, we’re thrilled to welcome the Action Air and Accutemp teams to the platform, whose commitment to their customers and employees alike aligns exactly with what we’re building,” said Steve Knowles, the CEO of NexCore. “Our partnership with Trinity Hunt has been instrumental in accelerating NexCore’s growth strategy, enabling investments in people, processes, and technology that enhance our service capabilities. Collectively, we remain focused on maintaining our industry-leading workplace culture that we consider foundational to our success.”
“NexCore’s success in partnering with both high-quality businesses and executives demonstrates the platform’s ability to establish a strong foothold in a highly fragmented industry,” said Garrett Greer, a partner at Trinity Hunt. “Action Air and Accutemp’s profound company cultures exemplify the type of exceptional partners we hope to continue to attract as we seek to better serve our growing customer base.”
Trinity Hunt is based in Dallas and invests from $15 million to $70 million of equity in founder- and family-owned companies that have revenues of at least $10 million and EBITDA of at least $2 million. Sectors of interest include business services, healthcare services, and consumer services. In February 2024, Trinity Hunt held an oversubscribed closing of Trinity Hunt Partners VII LP at its hard cap with $700 million of capital commitments.
