Blue Point Capital Partners has acquired Restoration Systems, a provider of facade and structural repair and restoration services, in partnership with the company’s second-generation leadership.
Restoration Systems’ (RSI) building envelope and parking structure services include brick and stone repair, tuckpointing, waterproofing, concrete repair, traffic coating applications, and post-tension cable repair. Customers of RSI are active in the commercial, healthcare, education, governmental, and multi-family sectors.
RSI was founded in 1999 by the Dronen family and is currently led by President Blake Dronen, a second-generation owner of the business. RSI operates from headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with an additional office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“Blue Point’s experience with service-oriented and family-owned businesses, as well as their alignment with our culture and long-term goals, made them the right partner for RSI as we pursue continued growth through organic expansion and M&A,” said Mr. Dronen. “This partnership will enable us to further invest in our people, technology and capabilities, while continuing to deliver exceptional results for our customers and providing exciting opportunities for our team.”
According to RSI, it has experienced double-digit revenue growth in recent years, and with the close of the transaction, RSI now plans to expand geographically and pursue add-on acquisitions of similar restoration and repair companies.
“RSI is an exciting addition to our past and current portfolio of family-owned field service businesses,” said Brian Castleberry, a partner at Blue Point. “Blake and his team have built an impressive and scalable platform, and we are primed to support their continued growth and success with more add-on acquisitions, new members of the team and investments in new locations, equipment and technology.”
Blue Point invests in companies active in the industrial, business services, consumer, and value-added distribution sectors, with revenues between $30 million and $300 million and EBITDA greater than $7 million.
Blue Point is currently investing through its 2022 vintage $700 million fifth fund. The firm was founded in 2000 and has offices in Cleveland, Charlotte, Seattle, and Shanghai.
Northborne Partners was the financial advisor to RSI on this transaction.
