
RSC Bio Solutions develops and supplies high-performance, environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) used in marine and industrial applications. The company’s product portfolio includes FUTERRA biodegradable hydraulic fluid, EnviroLogic lubricants for marine vessels and sensitive environments, and BioFlo EAL gear oils, which are used to meet regulatory compliance and sustainability goals in equipment operating near water.

Customers of RSC Bio include marine operators, offshore energy companies, and industrial machinery users seeking renewable base oil alternatives. RSC Bio was founded in 2010 by CEO Mike Guggenheimer and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with an additional facility near Cleveland in Bedford Heights, Ohio.

Lubrication Engineers was acquired by Aurora Capital Partners in September 2023, and the buy of RSC Bio is its second add-on acquisition following the March 2025 acquisition of the industrial brands and products — synthetic lubricants, greases, and fluids — of Royal Purple from publicly traded Calumet for $110 million (Aurora Carves Royal Purple Industrial from Calumet).


Through its network of distributors and technical service representatives, the company’s products are sold to customers in more than 60 countries. Lubrication Engineers, led by CEO Eric Borland, was founded in 1951 and operates a 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas.

Aurora Capital Partners makes control investments of $50 million to $300 million in industrial, manufacturing, and service-oriented businesses valued between $100 million and $500 million. The firm focuses on sectors including industrial services and distribution, engineered products, and technology-enabled services. Aurora Capital was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Los Angeles.

Abacus Finance Group has had an active start to the second quarter, closing two transactions supporting private equity partners in lower middle-market investments.
