Fortis Solutions Group, a manufacturer of printing and shipping labels, and a portfolio company of Harvest Partners, has acquired Profecta Labels, a manufacturer of labels and packaging products.

Profecta manufactures and prints flexible labels and packaging products used in the North American industrial, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food and beverage end markets. The company is based near Montreal in St-Hubert, Quebec.

“For the past 30 years we have built an amazing company with an incredible group of people,” said Pierre Roberge, the owner of Profecta. “I am thrilled and look forward to teaming up with John and the Fortis group for this new chapter and continue our growth.”

Fortis provides labeling and packaging – including pressure sensitive and shrink sleeve labels, multi-ply coupon and flexible packaging printing, and extended booklet printing – to companies active in the consumer-packaged goods sector. Fortis has both flexographic and digital printing capabilities and operates fifteen manufacturing and sales offices across Texas, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Montana, Georgia, North Carolina, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, California, and Michigan. Fortis, led by CEO John Wynne Jr., has more than 1,100 employees and is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

“We are excited to extend our footprint to Canada and partner with Pierre Roberge and his talented team to deliver additional solutions and capabilities to our customers,” said Mr. Wynne. “Pierre and I share similar business philosophies and we look forward to working together to build upon Profecta’s success.”

Harvest acquired Fortis in October 2021 from Main Post Partners. The buy of Profecta is Harvest’s second add-on for Fortis and follows the April 2022 add-on acquisition of Label Tech, a Somersworth, New Hampshire-based manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels.

Harvest Partners invests in companies that have from $100 million to $1 billion in revenue and $20 million to $100 million in EBITDA. Sectors of interest include business services, consumer services, healthcare services, industrial services, manufacturing and distribution. The firm was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in New York.
