Repairify, a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, has acquired AutoMobile Technologies, a provider of software used in the automotive reconditioning sector.

AutoMobile Technologies (AMT) software is used by automobile reconditioners to estimate, book, bill and track inspections, estimates, repair orders and invoices on both desktop and mobile devices. Automobile reconditioning can include interior repair, wheel repair, glass, paint and detailing services for used cars.

Parkland, Florida-based AMT was founded in 2006 by President Paul Maximov and its software products are used by over 8,000 technicians repairing more than 40,000 vehicles every day.

“We are excited and impressed with the Repairify team and feel a kinship with the leadership and their entrepreneurial spirit,” said Mr. Maximov. “We look forward to combining our resources in a way that creates a marketplace leader, bridging the gaps in today’s fragmented auto reconditioning industry.”

Plano, Texas-based Repairify provides original equipment manufacturer (OEM) tools and OEM-compatible technology, services and data to the automotive repair industry. The company’s clients are able to perform diagnostics, calibration, programming and workflow optimization through Repairify and its family of brands’ programs to adapt to the increasing amount of technology in automobiles. The company began as a proprietary technology patented by asTech and was formally founded in 2015 upon its acquisition by Kinderhook.

“Repairify is thrilled to welcome the AMT team,” said Paul Cifelli, a managing director of Kinderhook. “AMT brings an array of customers across the automotive ecosystem that work with over 40,000 vehicles per day. With its team of certified technicians, AMT will nearly double – to nearly 16,000 – the number of automotive technical experts now under the Repairify banner.”

Repairify has acquired six other companies under Kinderhook ownership including One Guard Inspections (December 2021), Mobile Tech RX (June 2021), Red EU and Red Autocentres (May 2021), adasThink (February 2021), BlueDriver (January 2021) and FleetGenix (2019).

“We are very excited to welcome the entire AMT team to Repairify as they join in our mission to simplify the repair and reconditioning of today’s complex modern automobile using technology and an amazing, growing network of certified technicians,” said Tony Rimas, the president of Repairify. “The AMT team brings a wealth of expertise, technology know-how and client relationships that will benefit our team greatly.”

New York City-based Kinderhook has over $3.3 billion of committed capital and has closed more than 300 investments and follow-on acquisitions since its founding in 1983. Kinderhook makes control investments in companies with transaction values of $25 million to $150 million in which the firm can achieve financial, operational and growth improvements. Sectors of interest include healthcare services; environmental and business services; and automotive and light manufacturing.
