O2 Continues Staffing Build

Newest hire follows the addition of a new business development head in October

O2 Investment Partners has named Mark Heneman as the firm’s newest associate.

In his new position, Mr. Heneman will be active evaluating new transactions, conducting due diligence, underwriting, and collaborating with O2’s portfolio companies.

Before joining O2 last month, Mr. Heneman was with investment bank Duff & Phelps beginning in 2018 as both an associate and analyst. As part of the firm’s M&A group, he worked on buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions and capital raises for consumer companies. Mr. Heneman has his undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Ohio State.

O2 is delighted to have Mark join the team,” said Luke Plumpton, a partner at O2. “He has a tremendous background, and we believe he can have an immediate impact on our continued portfolio expansion and review of new opportunities.”

The hiring of Mr. Heneman follows O2’s hiring of Derek Wardlaw in October to lead its new business development group. Prior to joining O2, Mr. Wardlaw led business development at Miami-based Boyne Capital beginning in 2017.

O2 makes control investments in companies with enterprise values from $10 million to $100 million and EBITDA from $5 million to $15 million that are located anywhere in the US and Canada. Sectors of interest include business-to-business services, technology, and niche industrial companies.

In January 2021, O2 held a final closing of O2 Investment Partners Fund III LP with $270 million in capital commitments. O2 is based in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills and was founded in 2010.
