Mesirow has hired Bradley Karelitz as a senior vice president in its private equity group.
At Mesirow, Mr. Karelitz will focus on business development and fundraising for the firm’s private equity products, including primary partnership investments, secondary investments and co-investments. He will also be responsible for building the firm’s coverage of institutional investors including public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations, and insurance companies.
Before coming over to Mesirow, Mr. Karelitz spent nearly four years with HarbourVest as a vice president coordinating, monitoring and building relationships with new and existing investors. From 2008 to 2017, he was with Boston-based asset manager Columbia Threadneedle as a business development and relationship manager. Mr. Karelitz has his undergraduate degree in managerial economics from Union College.
“We are excited to welcome Brad to the team as we look to serve a growing set of sophisticated investors around the world,” said Marc Sacks, the chief executive officer of Mesirow Private Equity. “Brad’s experience developing relationships with private equity investors and their consultants will enable us to extend our reach and provide further value to our investors.”
“Mesirow Private Equity has a reputation for consistently identifying high-performing private equity investment opportunities, longstanding relationships with some of the world’s leading private equity firms and a deep commitment to client service,” said Mr. Karelitz. “I look forward to contributing to the team’s continued growth.”
Mesirow Private Equity is headquartered in Chicago and has made approximately $6.6 billion of private equity commitments since its founding in 1982. The group is part of Mesirow, a provider of investment management, capital markets, investment banking, and advisory services.
