Hunter Point Adds Partner

Hunter Point Capital (HPC), an investor in middle-market private equity firms, has added Brad Coleman to its team as a partner to lead the firm’s GP Coverage Group. Mr. Coleman will begin his role at HPC early next month.

Before deciding to come over to HPC, Mr. Coleman was the chairman of Citi’s global asset managers group where he helped lead the investment bank’s coverage of alternative asset managers, as well as pure-play private equity firms and their portfolio companies. In aggregate, Mr. Coleman has more than 30 years of experience in the alternatives sector and he has spent the last 18 years in various leadership roles in Citi’s alternatives practice. He began his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers in 1988.

“I am excited to welcome Brad to the senior leadership team of HPC,” said Avi Kalichstein, the CEO of HPC. “Brad brings a wealth of invaluable industry experience, having been involved in many of the most significant transactions in the alternative investment and private equity sectors. He will play a critical role as HPC expands its platform, helping general partners achieve their long-term business objectives faster and with more certainty.”

“There is significant growth and opportunity in the alternatives sector, specifically within the middle-market, which is currently being underserved by existing players,” said Mr. Coleman. “I am delighted to join HPC to help forge long-term strategic partnerships that will create value for general partners around the globe.”

Mr. Coleman earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York (SUNY) and his MBA from the University of Chicago.

The addition of Mr. Coleman to HPC follows the firm’s hiring of Ross Sarraf as a vice president within its GP Coverage Group in January 2021 and Scott Hamner as a managing director within its strategic value group.

Hunter Point Capital makes minority investments in middle-market alternative asset managers across private equity, credit, real estate and infrastructure strategies. The firm was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in New York City.
