M/C Names New Partners

M/C Partners has named three new partners with the promotions of Ryan Carr, Abhishek (AB) Rampuria and Julia Senior. The firm has also promoted Arvind Viswanathan to senior associate.

“Ryan, AB, and Julia have each demonstrated the ability to identify, source and lead deals in their respective industry sectors and have played leadership roles in portfolio management,” said Gillis Cashman, a managing partner at M/C Partners.

Mr. Carr joined M/C in 2016 and focuses on origination in the fiber infrastructure and residential broadband sectors. Prior to M/C, he worked at MVP Capital, a telecommunications, media and technology-focused investment bank, where he completed several financing and M&A transactions in the wireless communications and infrastructure, fiber infrastructure and media sectors. Mr. Carr has a BBA degree in finance, accounting and entrepreneurship from Gonzaga University.

Mr. Rampuria has been with M/C since 2015 and he is active originating and leading transactions within the managed services and wireless infrastructure sectors. Before joining M/C, Mr. Rampuria worked at Altman Vilandrie & Company, a telecommunications, media and technology-focused consulting firm, where he completed projects for both operating companies and private equity investors. He has his undergraduate degree in materials sciences and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ms. Senior joined M/C in 2016 and originates and leads transactions across the data center, application services, and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors.  Prior to M/C, Ms. Senior was an equity research analyst on the telecommunications team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she covered companies in the wireline, wireless, data center and tower industries. Ms. Senior has an undergraduate degree in economics and an MBA from Harvard.

Mr. Viswanathan joined M/C in 2018 and he will increase his portfolio support responsibilities as he transitions to the role of senior associate. Before joining M/C he was an investment banking analyst at BNP Paribas. Mr. Viswanathan has an undergraduate degree in economics and mathematics from Duke University.

Boston-based M/C is led by managing partners James Wade, David Croll, Gillis Cashman, and Brian Clark. “In combination with our partner, Travis Keller, these individuals reflect the next chapter of M/C partners leadership,” concluded Mr. Clark. Mr. Keller joined M/C in April 2019 from Altman, Vilandrie & Co.

M/C focuses primarily in the services sectors of communications, technology, and media. The firm invests from $15 million to $40 million of equity per transaction and is typically the first institutional investor in its portfolio companies. In April 2019, M/C held a final and oversubscribed closing of M/C Partners VIII LP at its hard cap of $350 million.
