Shamrock Names Two New Partners

Shamrock Capital has promoted Laura Held and Jason Sklar to partners of the firm.

Shamrock Capital Advisors has $1.9 billion of assets under management and invests in the media, entertainment, and communications sectors. The firm invests from $15 million to $100 million of control or minority equity in growth capital and buyouts. Sectors of interest include media, entertainment and communications. Shamrock also invests from $5 million to $50 million in entertainment-related intellectual property rights of films, television programming, music, and video games.

Ms. Held joined Shamrock in 2012 as a senior associate and is active with the firm’s private equity strategy. Earlier in her career, she was an associate in the corporate strategy group at The Walt Disney Company, and an associate at The Carlyle Group and as an investment banking analyst at Credit Suisse. Ms. Held has her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and her MBA from Harvard.

Mr. Sklar has been with Shamrock since 2015 and focuses on the firm’s entertainment intellectual property strategy. Prior to joining Shamrock, he was an executive director with J.P. Morgan’s entertainment industries group beginning in 2005. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Bank of America and an analyst at Arthur Andersen. Mr. Sklar has his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and his MBA from the University of Southern California.

Shamrock was founded in 1978 as the Roy E. Disney family investment company and is headquartered in Los Angeles.
