Trinity Hunt Promotes Two

Trinity Hunt Partners has promoted Garrett Greer to principal and John Oakes to vice president.

Since joining Trinity Hunt in 2016, Mr. Greer has executed multiple platform investments and add-on acquisitions.  He is also active in evaluating new investment opportunities and managing portfolio companies. He currently serves on the board of directors of IMS ExpertServices, a Florida-based provider of expert witness search and placement services (acquired in November 2017), and Improving, a Texas-based provider of technology and software development services (acquired in July 2018).

“Garrett has been a key contributor to our deal execution capabilities and portfolio company value creation process during his tenure with Trinity Hunt. We would like to congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion and look forward to further growth in his responsibilities,” said Dan Dross, a managing partner at Trinity Hunt.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Greer was with Lone Star Investment Advisors, Insight Equity, American Capital, and Imperial Capital.  He has his BBA and a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas, as well as an MBA from Northwestern University.

In his new role as a vice president, Mr. Oakes will be active in sourcing, deal execution and portfolio company management. “John’s initiative, strong work ethic and deepening private equity experience have made him a valuable asset at Trinity Hunt,” said Pete Stein, a managing partner of Trinity Hunt. “This recognition of his accomplishments is well-deserved, and we are looking forward to his continued growth as a key member of our investment team.”

Mr. Oakes joined Trinity Hunt in 2015 and has been active with the firm’s investments in Family Help & Wellness, a North Carolina-based provider of behavioral health programs to adolescents and young adults (acquired in March 2014); Mid America Pet Food, a Texas-based maker of branded pet food products (acquired in August 2014); Veracity Research, a Texas-based provider of investigative services (acquired in August 2018); and Wexco International, a California-based provider of litigation-focused forensic engineering services (acquired in August 2019). Before joining Trinity Hunt, Mr. Oakes was with Credit Suisse in its global energy group. He has his BBA from Southern Methodist University.

Dallas-based Trinity Hunt invests in founder and family-owned companies that have EBITDAs between $4 million and $25 million. Sectors of interest include business services, industrial growth, non-cyclical consumer products, and healthcare services. In September 2018, Trinity Hunt held a final closing of its fifth fund, Trinity Hunt Partners V LP, at an oversubscribed $350 million in capital commitments. The new fund exceeded its initial target of $300 million and closed at its hard cap (www.trinityhunt.com).
