Abacus Promotes and Hires

Abacus Finance Group has promoted Eric Petersen to Director and has hired Jacob Wise as an Analyst.

Mr. Petersen joined Abacus in 2013 and he is involved with structuring, underwriting, executing, monitoring, and valuing investments for the firm. He previously worked as an associate in the leveraged finance group at BNP Paribas and worked with GE Energy in corporate development. Prior to transitioning to the private sector, he spent over 14 years as a Naval Officer and an F/A-18 Fighter Pilot. He holds a BS in English from the United States Naval Academy, an MS in Quantitative and Computational Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Wise joined Abacus in March 2019 and works as part of the investment team structuring, underwriting and executing new investments. He is also active with various portfolio monitoring and valuation tasks. Previously, he was an analyst at BMO Capital Markets in its leveraged finance group. Mr. Wise earned a BBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Abacus provides cash flow-based senior financing to private equity-sponsored, lower-middle market companies that have EBITDA between $3 million and $15 million. Debt facilities can be as large as $75 million with a typical hold size ranging from $10 million to $40 million.  Since its inception in June 2011, Abacus has closed over $2 billion in financings.
