WILsquare Capital, a St. Louis-based private equity firm, has added Drew Caylor to its investment team as a managing director.
Mr. Caylor joins WILsquare from St. Louis-based Louis York Capital, a multi-family investment office, that makes direct investments in industrial manufacturing and distribution businesses. As a partner at Louis York from December 2014 to March 2019, Mr. Caylor was active in transaction execution as well as serving on the boards of portfolio companies.
From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Caylor was with Bodley Group, a St. Louis-based family office investing in growth and seed opportunities, where he served as an operating partner. During his time at Bodley he was also president of Mirage Products, a Saint Louis-based wholesale distributor of non-grocery products to the convenience store and truck stop industries, which Bodley acquired in January 2009.
“As a managing director, Drew’s meaningful understanding of lower-middle market companies will allow him to quickly apply his experiences to the continued growth of WILsquare’s investment portfolio and the success of these companies,” said Bill Willhite, managing partner at WILsquare. “Drew has consistently evidenced strong leadership attributes throughout his career, attributes very consistent with WILsquare’s culture and focus. Drew is a terrific addition to the WILsquare team.”
Mr. Caylor is a graduate of Stanford University and he spent two years in the NFL. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004 and also played for the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. He retired from the NFL in 2006. Mr. Caylor received his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014.
WILsquare invests in businesses that are located in the Midwest and South that are often family-owned and have EBITDA of $3 million to $10 million. Sectors of interest include business services, niche manufacturing, distribution and technology companies.
