Charlesbank Capital Partners has added Daren Battistoni to its investment team as a new managing director. Mr. Battistoni has more than 14 years of experience investing in the technology sector.
Mr. Battistoni began his career at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe in 2004. In 2016 he became a founding partner at Pamplona TMT, where he co-led a $1 billion technology-focused fund that invested in the cloud computing, cybersecurity, healthcare technology and software sectors. While at Pamplona, Mr. Battistoni worked with Hiren Mankodi, who joined Charlesbank as a managing director in October. Together they will lead the firm’s efforts in the technology industry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Darren to the Charlesbank partnership,” said Michael Choe, Charlesbank’s CEO. “His deep knowledge across the technology spectrum, combined with our shared commitment to a disciplined and conservative approach to private equity investing, makes him a valuable asset to our team as we continue to look for meaningful ways to participate in the target-rich technology landscape. We look forward to his contributions to our sourcing and diligence efforts and to driving strategic value in our current and future portfolio companies.”
Charlesbank invests from $50 million to $250 million in management-led buyouts and growth capital financings in companies with enterprise values of $150 million to $1.5 billion. Sectors of interest include consumer, industrial, industrial services and distribution, TMT and business services. In October 2017, the firm held a final closing of Charlesbank Equity Fund IX at its hard cap of $2.75 billion. The firm has offices in Boston and New York (www.charlesbank.com).
