Strait Lane Capital Partners has hired Kevin Roberts as a Principal on its investment team.
In his new position, Mr. Roberts will assume a lead role in expanding Strait Lane’s transaction sourcing activity and relationships.
Prior to joining Strait Lane, Mr. Roberts was a Managing Director at Fidelitas Capital Partners, an independent private equity sponsor that invests in lower-middle market companies, beginning in March 2012. Earlier in his career, he held investment positions with Trinity Hunt Partners, Hunt Capital Group and Cotton Creek Capital. Overall, Mr. Roberts has nearly 20 years of experience as a private equity investor. He has a BBA in Finance from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Wharton.
“We are extremely pleased to be adding Kevin to our team,” said Mark King, Chairman of Strait Lane. “The depth and breadth of his investing and industry experience are a tremendous complement to Strait Lane’s strategy of being a growth-oriented equity partner to entrepreneur or family-owned companies in the lower middle market.”
“Adding a professional of Kevin’s caliber to our team is a direct result of the success of Strait Lane’s investment strategy and demonstrates our firm’s commitment to address a greater volume of investment opportunity,” said Warren Edwards, Strait Lane’s President and Managing Partner.
Strait Lane makes control investments in US-based niche manufacturing, business, or technology companies that have at least $2 million of EBITDA. The firm was founded by Mr. Edwards and Mr. King in 2009 and is headquartered in Dallas (www.straitlanecapital.com).
