ISA Fire and Security, a portfolio company of Align Capital Partners, has merged with ABCO Fire Protection. Align acquired ISA Fire in December 2017 and remains the majority owner of the newly merged companies.
ABCO Fire is a regional provider of fire safety and security system inspection, maintenance, and repair services for thousands of commercial customers in a variety of end-markets. The company goes to market under the ABCO, Trico, and Superior Fire brands.
ABCO is majority owned and operated by Bob Titmas Jr. whose father founded the company in 1975. Since its founding, the family business expanded through both add-on acquisitions and organic growth. Today, ABCO has nine offices throughout Ohio and Kentucky and over 125 service technicians. The company is headquartered in Cleveland (www.abcofire.com).
ISA Fire provides inspection, maintenance, and repair services and sells new, repaired, and remanufactured parts for fire and security systems. ISA is led by CEO Mike Epperson and is headquartered in Louisville (www.isa-net.com).
“The addition of such a well-respected regional firm, with a strong track record of growth, brings great momentum to our core business. The combination with ISA and ACP will allow us to better serve our customers through a greater geographic footprint and capabilities,” said Mr. Epperson.
“We’re excited to combine forces with the ABCO team on the heels of our initial investment in ISA,” said Steve Dyke, a Managing Partner at Align. “ABCO will immediately provide ISA with a broader service offering and greater customer diversity. But, beyond the benefits of scale, ABCO brings with it key people – both a sizable pool of highly skilled technicians and a talented management team.”
Align Capital Partners makes control investments in companies that have from $3 million to $10 million of EBITDA. Sectors of interest include specialty manufacturing, distribution and business services. The firm was founded in 2016 by managing partners Steve Dyke, Robert Langley, and Chris Jones – all formerly of The Riverside Company – and has offices in Cleveland and Dallas (www.aligncp.com).
Working with Mr. Dyke on the transaction were Operating Partner John Dupuy, Vice President Jack Parks, and Associate Jonathan Vadiee.
Align continues to seek regional fire and life safety service providers across the United States as add-on acquisitions to the ISA Fire platform.
