Gen Cap America has acquired Mid America Metals, a provider of architectural and commercial restoration services.

Mid America Metals is a provider of interior and exterior metal, stone, glass, and wood restoration services to architectural and commercial buildings in the Midwest, Southwest, and Southeast regions of the US. The company’s revenue is derived from maintenance and renovation work, with the majority coming from contracts for regular, routine maintenance services. Mid America was co-founded in 1985 by Dale Donat and is headquartered in Ozark, MO (www.midamericametals.com).

Under Gen Cap ownership, the Mid America Metals management team will be led by Dale Donat and his son, Brandon Donat. “My family has dedicated the last 30 plus years to growing Mid America Metals. In addition, we have a strong team of dedicated and long-term employees who have played an important role in building the company. With the benefit of additional expertise and resources from Gen Cap, we look forward to taking Mid America Metals to the next level while continuing to provide our customers with the highest quality of refinishing and restoration services,” said Dale Donat.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to invest in Mid America Metals alongside the management team,” said Matt Lane, a Managing Director at Gen Cap. “Mid America Metals is an excellent company with an outstanding reputation and track record in the building restoration sector.”

Gen Cap America invests in companies with revenues between $5 million and $100 million that are active in the manufacturing, distribution or service sectors. The firm is currently investing through Southwest Fund VII, a $250 million fund which had a final close at its hard cap in January 2017. Gen Cap was founded in 1985 and is based in Nashville (www.gencapamerica.com).

“Mid America Metals fits perfectly with Gen Cap’s investment model of backing management teams at companies with long histories of success,” said Barney Byrd, CEO of Gen Cap.
