Angeles Equity Partners Adds Three

Angeles Equity Partners (AEP) has added three new professionals with the hirings of Maxwell Schechter as Vice President of Business Development focusing on deal origination and marketing; and James Lee and Shan Siddiqui as Associates concentrating on the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.

“Max, James and Shan are excellent additions to our team,” said Timothy Meyer, co-founder and Managing Partner of AEP. “These appointments allow us to improve and expand our capabilities in deal origination and execution.”

In January 2017, AEP closed Angeles Equity Partners I LP with $360 million in capital. This is the firm’s first private equity fund and it was oversubscribed, exceeding its target of $300 million. AEP makes control invests in companies with enterprise values up to $200 million that have headquarters and primary operations in the United States and Canada. Sectors of interest include automotive, building products, capital goods, chemicals, electronics, manufacturing, metals, transportation & logistics, packaging and distribution.

Prior to joining Angeles Equity Partners, Mr. Schechter worked at Lindsay Goldberg, where he coordinated the firm’s business development activities. While at Lindsay Goldberg, his responsibilities included sourcing potential investment opportunities, developing intermediary relationships and managing the firm’s affiliate partner network. Prior to Lindsay Goldberg, Mr. Schechter was involved in private equity fundraising at both The Riverside Company and MVision Private Equity Advisers. He has a BA in Economics from Princeton University.

Previous to Angeles Equity Partners, Mr. Lee was as an analyst in the investment banking division of Jefferies. He received a BS in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from the University of Kansas.

Before joining Angeles Equity Partners, Mr. Siddiqui was an analyst in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse. He began his career in the investment banking division of Citigroup. He has a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia.
