Baltimore-based investment bank Signal Hill has announced that Daniel Graves has assumed the role of Head of Sponsor Coverage for the firm, taking over from Franklin Staley, who has moved back into a transaction leadership role. Mr. Graves joined Signal Hill in April 2016 as a Managing Director in the sponsor coverage group.

“Dan has developed strong relationships with private equity over his 25-year career in investment banking, and we’re pleased he is on board to lead our sponsor coverage effort,” said Scott Wieler, Chairman and CEO of Signal Hill.

Signal Hill is an advisory boutique serving the following sectors: internet & digital media, internet infrastructure, services and software. The firm has executed over 100 M&A and capital raising transactions since 2014, and more than 75% of these involved a private equity firm or one of their portfolio companies on either the buy- or sell-sides, or both. Signal Hill has offices in Baltimore, Bangalore, Boston, Mumbai, Nashville, New York, Reston and San Francisco (www.signalhill.com).

Prior to joining Signal Hill, Mr. Graves founded Spinnaker Capital Advisors (SCA), an advisory firm focused on middle market media companies. During his 11 years of operating SCA, Mr. Graves participated in more than $650 million of merger, acquisition, capital raising and financial advisory transactions. In total he has more than 25 years of investment banking experience and has previously held senior banking positions with Salomon Brothers, Deutsche Bank, and Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Graves will lead Signal Hill’s team at ACG InterGrowth in Las Vegas later this month, which will include senior banker representatives from its IT Services and Technology, Media & Telecommunications groups.
