Croft & Bender, an Atlanta-based investment banking firm, has added Steve Hunter as a new Managing Director.
Mr. Hunter joins Croft & Bender with more than 20 years of middle market investment banking experience. At Croft & Bender he will focus on sourcing and executing transactions in the industrial, consumer and business services sectors as well as helping the firm expand its business with middle market private equity firms.
“We have known Steve both personally and professionally for almost two decades and think his experience, relationships and skills will be great additions to Croft & Bender,” said Bo Briggs, Managing Director with Croft & Bender. “We think that Steve can play a key role as we continue to expand our presence in the private equity community and with privately-held companies.”
Mr. Hunter has more than 20 years of middle market investment banking experience. Prior to joining Croft & Bender he was a Managing Director at Greene Holcomb Fisher (GHF), which was acquired by BMO Capital Markets in 2016. While at GHF, he led the firm’s Financial Sponsors Group and was involved in more than 40 transactions during his four years at the firm. Mr. Hunter opened the Atlanta office for GHF in 2012 and, in addition to his sponsor coverage role, he led the execution of a number of transactions in the industrial and consumer sectors. He has an undergraduate degree in economics from Bucknell and an MBA from Harvard.
“I have known most of the team at Croft & Bender for many years and have been impressed with the firm’s reputation and track record of generating superior outcomes for clients,” said Mr. Hunter. “Having spent time at both larger, full-service investment banks and smaller boutique firms, I am convinced more than ever that the independent M&A advisor is the best solution for middle market clients who need senior-level attention and conflict-free advice.”
